Duties and Responsibilities:
They specialize in problems of mental illness. They are
licensed to use any type of treatment and may write prescriptions. They may
work for the government, have their own private place, and work in hospitals,
clinics, or even universities.
Average Salary: $90,000 - $200,000
Education:
In addition
to completing the requirements for a degree in allopathic or osteopathic
medicine, psychiatrist must complete an intensive three year residency in
psychiatry.
