Osteopathic physician use accepted methods of diagnosing and treating injuries and diseases. Although they practice in all branches of medicine and surgery they differ by emphasizing the importance of the musculoskeletal system.

Optometrists treat vision problems. They treat vision problems by diagnosing the problem and then prescribing corrective eyeglasses, contact lenses, or vision therapy. Unlike ophthalmologist they are not physicians and may not write medical prescriptions, treat diseases, or perform surgery.

Education:

If some of you guys are interested in becoming an Optometrist you need to take (AP or IB) classes in math, science, and English. Optometry school is four years in length. Before taking optometry school you at least have to have two tears of college. After being awarded the degree of doctor of Optometry, optometrist must pass state exams before starting to practice.

Optician

Optician fit and dispense eyeglasses for patient based upon prescriptions written by optometrist. They help the customer select their eyeglass frames and measure their face to make Sure that the eyeglass frame fits. They also measure the corneas of the eyes so that the lenses may be correctly fitted into the frame.

Average Salary: $19,000 - $40,000

Education:

If you want to be an Optician you have to have a high school diploma or a GED certificate to begin the training. These are the courses you have to take in high school physics, algebra, mechanical drawing, and geometry. There are two types of training programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Optical Laboratory Technician grinds and fit eyeglass lenses into frames according to prescription written by ophthalmologist. They put the lens grinding machine so the lenses are ground and polish. Then they fit the lens in the frame and then after that it’s if the patient likes them yes or no.

Salary: $15,000 - $20,000

Education:

Optical Laboratory Technician you need a high school diploma or a (GED) certificate to begin the (OLT) training. The training take up to six months or maybe a year and are provide by vocational schools and some community college.

I would like to be a (OLT) because it sounds like a cool and fun job.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ophthalmologists are physicians who work with eye disorders and diseases. They also treat vision problems and write prescriptions and corrective eyeglass lenses. If the eye disorder is really bad they might need surgery.

Average Salary: $90,000 – $150,000

Educational:

Education:

If you want to be an Operating room technician you need to have a high school diploma or a GED.  There are many vocational junior colleges that offer programs that operating room technology but the course is one year to two years.

I wouldn't want to be one because I’m not that good with technology.
